Claims Handler – Employers’ & Public Liability Injury Claims

📍 Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne
💰 Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 DOE
⏳ Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our Employers’ & Public Liability department. You will be responsible for handling portal exited or non-portal fast track personal injury claims. The ideal candidate must have:
✔️ Experience managing an EL/PL caseload
✔️ Ability and willingness to litigate Part 7 claims
✔️ Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Review case files and provide updates to clients, introducers, and team leaders
🔹 Liaise with medical experts and other professionals
🔹 Assess liability denials and gather supporting evidence
🔹 Negotiate with insurers, solicitors, and other relevant parties
🔹 Value claims for Pain, Suffering, and Loss of Amenity
🔹 Draft Schedules of Special Damages
🔹 Issue proceedings and handle litigation through to settlement or trial
🔹 Prepare cases for trial, including briefing Counsel
🔹 Provide regular reports to team leaders
🔹 Respond promptly to client and introducer queries

Requirements

✅ Minimum 1 year of experience handling EL/PL cases, including litigation
✅ Strong knowledge of statutory and common law
✅ Excellent drafting and quantum assessment skills
✅ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
✅ Great client care and communication skills (verbal & written)
✅ Proactive and team-oriented mindset
